Hotel Venice St Mark

| Hotel near St Mark’s Square among the hotels in Castello District in Venice historic center

Location

Facing a typical Venetian canal, the Ai Due Principi Hotel is located in the historic heart of Venice, a couple steps from the splendid Piazza San Marco. Nearby, the shopping area of the Mercerie, Rialto and Riva degli Schiavoni, from which, going in the direction of the Gardens, you will arrive to the main seat of the International Biennale d'Arte.

Staying in our original and modern boutique hotel will allow you to experience the seductive atmosphere of the old Castello district, where you will meet a Venice that is removed from the usual tourist flow, offering suggestive angles and quiet streets of days gone by.

Just outside our hall there is the Church of San Zaccaria, which houses one of the main works of Bellini - La Sacra Conversazione - and the tombs of some of Venice's doges; close by you will discover the architecture of San Giorgio ai Greci and the splendid works of the Dalmata School, with the paintings of Vettore Carpaccio.

Walking around the hotel's neighborhood, it is impossible not to go inside one of the numerous bacari – typical Venetian inns – and taste the famous Venetian cicheti, appetizing specialty taken together with spritz, Venice's aperitif by far.

If you go North you will arrive to the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo, one of the most imposing Medieval buildings in the city, from where - by following the course of the Rio dei Mendicanti - you will arrive to the Fondamenta Nuove (New Foundation), where your view will open onto the islands in the lagoon.

Murano, Torcello and Burano are enchanting, easily accessible islands. 5 minutes from the Ai Due Principi Hotel, public transportation can take you to the red houses of Burano, the glass workshops of Murano or the splendid agro-tourism of Sant’Erasmo, between natural landscapes and cycle tracks.

We also suggest to...
to take a walk along the banks of the Zattere,
get lost in the foundations of Cannaregio,
visit the Guggenheim Foundation,
sit for a cup of coffee in Piazza San Marco,

or go shopping along the XXII Marzo street...
